British Virgin Islands

Before we left for Europe, we spent a week in the BVI unwinding after packing up our lives, putting everything into storage and tying up loose ends so we were free to travel without too many worries.

Here we are with sweet hair after snorkeling.  We were on the "Ulti-mate II" (pronounce ultee-mate, as per instructions from Aussie captain) which runs snorkeling day trips from Tortola.  The crew was a cute father and son team, they cracked jokes, played music, gave us the full island feel package, fulfilling all of our island tourist fantasies.  Lunch and Pain Killers are included.

That's Chris on the deck of our room.  Awesome view, waves crashing all night.  There was a storm one night though, which made us question the wisdom of placing a tiny cabana on stilts right at the edge of the ocean.

These photos were taken at the most perfect island.  I'm not posting the name because we don't want everyone and their brother to know about it, so if you want to know where it is you'll have to ask me.  That water - the crystal clear aquamarine water - it was something like 70 degrees.   Perfect!

We spent our second to last day on Jost Van Dyke, mostly hiding from the sun in the shade doing important things like kicking sand around and trying to swing a ring on a string so that it hooks onto a loop on the tree.  This was one of our more stressful days
